Project Overview
We implemented a Visitor Management System (VMS) for Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj to streamline visitor entry, improve security, and track both visitors and prisoner movements using a barcode-based ticketing process. The system ensures transparency and control without complicating the visitor experience.
Key Features
- Walk-In Visitor Entry : Visitors are not required to register in advance. They simply arrive at the designated counter and provide basic details including their relation to the prisoner and mobile number
- Barcode-Based Ticketing : Upon entry, each visitor is issued a printed ticket containing a unique barcode. This barcode is scanned at various checkpoints to monitor visitor access and track interactions
- Linked Prisoner Movement Tracking : The barcode system also logs which prisoner the visitor is meeting, allowing the prison to track the prisoner’s movement during the visitation period
- Real-Time Entry Logging : Visitor entry and exit times are logged instantly in the system, ensuring accurate records and minimizing manual paperwork
- Secure Identity Collection : While minimal data is collected (relation and mobile number), each entry is digitally logged and can be audited if necessary
- Touchless Scanning at Entry Points : Visitors use barcode scans for entry and exit, improving hygiene and speeding up the process
- Admin Dashboard & Reports : Prison authorities can access daily summaries, visitor logs, prisoner visitation records, and generate reports for security and operational review
